The Executive Assistant Intern will lend administrative support to the Executive Director. Duties included are (but not limited to) letter writing, e-mail correspondence, database maintenance, and appointment set-up. Requirements: 5 to 20 hours per week for a full semester, verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
The Promotions Intern will promote PCF through grassroots efforts. The intern will distribute PCF’s promotional materials to the general public, solicit private contributions, and initiate potential partnerships with local businesses. Requirements: 5 to 15 hours per week for a full semester, organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
The Market Research/Office Assistant Intern will lend office assistance to PCF’s staff. Duties included are (but not limited to) conducting mailings, filing paperwork, cold calling, directing incoming calls, and performing additional duties as needed.The intern can also collect supplier bids, establish vendor relationships, and conduct market research. Requirements: 5 to 20 hours per week for a full semester, verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with MS Office, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
The Research/Data Entry Intern will conduct research using all available outlets (Internet, newspapers, magazines, phonebook, etc.) to find additional resources for PCF’s website. The intern must input collected data onto the website’s administrator and maintain a daily log of all work. Requirements: 5 to 20 hours per week for a full semester, Internet research experience, critical thinking skills, and strong attention to detail.
The Journalism Intern will attend public meetings and press conferences, conduct interviews, and research periodicals and other media outlets to write articles about education in Philadelphia. These articles will be published on PCF’s website, and featured in the monthly newsletter. Requirements: 5 to 15 hours per week for a full semester, concentration in communication, journalism, sociology, or a related field, primary and secondary research experience, excellent writing skills, ability to work independently, and an interest in public education.
The Career Exploration Intern will assist the staff with developing a new career exploration section on PCF’s website. The intern will select a career field that pertains to their major, research occupational information, and upload it to the website. Requirements: 5 to 20 hours per week for a full semester, Internet research experience, excellent writing skills, critical thinking skills, and strong attention to detail.
The Campus Rep. Intern will be responsible for establishing, building and maintaining relationships with on-campus departments/organizations to help make connections that will benefit the mission of PCF and the students whom we serve. They will be able to build their communication, organizational, negotiation, and time managment skills. This is a telecommuniting position with the majority of work done on campus. Requirements: 2 to 5 hours per week for a full semster, excellent time management, follow-up, and organizational skills. Professional, outgoing mannerisms, ability to work independently a MUST. Established presence on campus a PLUS but not required.
