PCF is pleased to announce the launch of Career Clubs, an outreach program at Germantown High School. Career Club meetings are held monthly to teach students about career development, job readiness skills, and postsecondary school preparation. In addition to attending these meetings, Career Club participants will go on Workplace Tours to businesses in the greater Philadelphia area beginning this fall. We would like to thank the Student Success Center at Germantown High School and this year's participating facilitators for making this pilot program possible.
We are now looking for career facilitators for the 2010-2011 school year. If you are able to speak to students on any college preparation or job readiness topic (such as resume writing, interviewing skills, leadership development, networking, college admissions, and more), or if you would like to host a group of students to tour your place of business, please email Tia Diggs at tdiggs@philadelphiachildrensfoundation.org or call (215) 242-5115. Together we can "Help Young People Imagine the Possibilities"!

This winter PCF launched our Reading for Success initiative, and donated over 900 books to Kinsey Elementary School with a special presentation by State Senator Leanna Washington. We will continue giving books to Philadelphia schools in need, thanks to Borders Bookstore and participating businesses in Chestnut Hill and Mt Airy.
